GI coils

GI Coils

GI Coils, also known as Galvanised Iron Coils, are carbon steel coils coated with a protective layer of zinc through the hot-dip galvanising process. The zinc coating provides enhanced resistance against corrosion while maintaining the strength and workability of the steel.

GI Coils are suitable for a wide range of manufacturing, fabrication and construction applications, including HVAC ducting systems, light weight steel truss systems, cable support systems, unistrut channels, purlins and roofing applications.

Product Features

  • Hot-dip galvanised carbon steel
  • Protective zinc coating on both sides
  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • Strong and durable steel base
  • Good formability and workability
  • Suitable for roll forming and fabrication
  • Available in coil form for continuous processing
  • Suitable for various industrial and construction applications

Benefits

  • Enhanced Corrosion Protection
The zinc coating helps protect the steel substrate from corrosion, making GI Coils suitable for applications exposed to moisture and environmental conditions.
  • Long-Lasting Performance
The protective galvanised coating helps extend the service life of steel products and components.
  • Excellent Workability
GI Coils can be processed through cutting, bending, forming and other manufacturing processes according to application requirements.
  • Efficient Manufacturing
Coil form allows continuous processing and is suitable for high-volume roll forming and manufacturing operations.
  • Versatile Applications
Suitable for HVAC ducting, roofing, purlins, cable support systems, light steel trusses and other fabricated products. These applications are also reflected on Steel Plus’ existing GI page.
